A car headed south on Route 130 near Merchantville Ave. in Pennsauken knocked down a utility pole early this morning, closing the road in both directions for at least half an hour, police said.

The driver, who passed a field sobriety test, was not hurt in the 4:10 am crash.

Police have cleared the pole, power lines and debris from the road. A three-lane highway in both directions, the northbound side of the road is now open, with the southbound side down to one lane.

What is with this pole? It is the 2nd time in less than 6 months that the same pole was taken out. The real problem is that the library electrical service is attached to the pole and for the the 2nd time they will be closed for days until it's fixed.
