Downed utility pole briefly closes Rt. 130 in Pennsauken

A car headed south on Route 130 near Merchantville Ave. in Pennsauken knocked down a utility pole early this morning, closing the road in both directions for at least a half hour, police said.

A car headed south on Route 130 near Merchantville Ave. in Pennsauken knocked down a utility pole early this morning, closing the road in both directions for at least half an hour, police said.

The driver, who passed a field sobriety test, was not hurt in the 4:10 am crash.

Police have cleared the pole, power lines and debris from the road. A three-lane highway in both directions, the northbound side of the road is now open, with the southbound side down to one lane.
