Inquirer staff writer Zoe Tillman reports:
The campers from Creative Steps day camp did not return to the pool today at The Valley Club. Club President John Duesler made an offer this weekend to allow the campers to return, but the camp has not announced whether it will accept.
A little before 3 p.m. today, about 65 campers boarded a yellow school bus to go to a gymnastics facility, according to camp staff. Camp Executive Director Alethea Wright was not with the campers; she is expected to make a statement at 6:15 p.m.
Several campers spoke out before leaving, all saying they had no desire to return to the Huntingdon Valley pool, regardless of any offer by the club.
“I don’t want to go back,” said camper Jabriel Brown, 12. “I don’t want to get treated the same.”
