Inquirer staff report:

A 16-year-old Camden County is missing and feared drowned after disappearing in rough surf yesterday in Seaside Heights.

New Jersey State Police boats and a helicopter today resumed a search for Sal Roberts, of Voorhees.

He was with a friend when they were knocked down by a large wave about 12:30 p.m. yesterday at the Webster Avenue Beach in the Ocean County resort.

Lifeguards rescued the friend, but could not find Roberts, officials said.

The boys were part of a group on an outing run Youth Consultation Services, a social service agency in Somerdale.
