A 51-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a pickup truck shortly before sunrise this morning on Route 322 in Logan Township.

Inquirer staff report:

A 51-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a pickup truck shortly before sunrise this morning on Route 322 in Logan Township.

The victim, Anthony Hoffman, lived nearby on Main Street in the township’s Bridgeport section and was often seen on his bicycle in the area, police said.

He was riding on the side of eastbound 322 near Route 130 when he was hit about 6:15 a.m., a quarter hour before sunrise, police said. Hoffman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and no charges have been filed.
An investigation is under way.
