Late night drivers will now find it easier going on the Schuylkill this week, PennDot said today.

Gene Blaum, the agency spokesman, just announced that only one eastbound lane will be closed at South Street, and only today through Wednesday

PennDot had earlier announced that eastbound Schuylkill Expressway would  be closed through Friday at South Street  from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for demolition work on the overhead South Street Bridge.

So not as bad as first thought.

The bridge is gonna be spectacular when finished. We don't mind a little inconvenience, especially since we were forewarned.
