They will prob match, but its no risk for the Flyers so why not. I am guessing this week Nashville will be trying to cut a deal with the Flyers for players over picks, using the threat of matching as leverage.

The only way the Flyers get Weber is by sending players in lieu of draft picks. This could hurt the Flyers, but they have to do it. Possible players? Matt Read who played so well last year most likely would be in the mix, so would one of the other forwards, plus a young defenseman and two or more of the picks. I am guessing Voracek and Bourdon. We must NOT send Couturier.

It looks like Nashville has the Flyers over a barrel. The Flyers need Weber, especially with Timonin at the end of his career next year. This could get interesting and my guess is that a deal will be announced by both teams sometime next week to finalize what players the Predators get from the Flyers for Weber. Draft picks alone will force Nashville to match the offer, they have no choice. The Black and Orange will give up some young talent to get Weber and make this thing fly.

Everyone thinking Nashville has Phlly 'over a barrel', here's hoping I never need to rely on you to negotiate for me! Holy "You have it totally backwards, Batman!". WE have a viable full team, tons of money, tons of cap space, picks and youth. **AND have eliminated 28 teams from the mix. Nashville has NO money and no way to force us into anything. All the Flyers NEED to do is wait. Short of that cold truth, they may choose to negotiate in good faith, offering some pieces to Nashville in lieu of, (or more accurately in trade for the return of), one or more compensatory picks.
First rule of negotiation; recognize who is in the position of power.
(CLUE: It's NOT the team with no money or options.)
