Guess home ice doesn't mean a whole lot to the team individually, yes it's nice that they reach down within themselves and raise their game in the playoffs, but they could have had home ice throughout the playoffs and didn't fight hard enough for that, now they are close to losing the top seed in the East. Most of us fans have never played hockey, many of us couldn't even stand up on skates, but we DO expect out sports players to give it there all every game, not just in the playoffs. If they start to wear out at the end of the season and go on cruise-control to save something for the playoffs, then maybe the season is "too long" and needs to be shortened (yeh, right!) Whatever, the players know we are behind them when they play hard, but don't get upset with us when you don't give it your all, because we know, and seeing how it is what you get payed for, well, we want you to earn it! Just sayin'...
