Van Riemsdyk back for Game 4?

Peter Laviolette gives out lineup changes to the media like the FBI hands out counterterrorism secrets.

That is to say, he divulges and hints at nothing.

"Good try," Laviolette told a reporter this morning at the Flyers' pre-game skate. "We don't talk about any lineups. You guys know that."

Heading into tonight's Game 4 at the Wachovia Center, where the Flyers are 8-1 in the postseason and where they will try to even up their Stanley Cup Finals series with the Blackhawks, there is still some lineup chatter.

Laviolette may sub out forward Dan Carcillo, who played in Games 2 and 3 in place of rookie forward James van Riemsdyk.

Carcillo did not collect any points, was a minus-2 and picked up two penalties in a combined 18:43 through those two games.

Van Riemsdyk, 21, has scored just three times in his last 38 games but has chipped in with 4 points in the playoffs thus far.

For much of the two games they swapped, Carcillo skated in van Riemsdyk's normal spot on a line with Claude Giroux and Arron Asham. With van Riemsdyk there, that line was one of the Flyers' most offensively potent lines before the finals.

My gut tells me you'll see the rookie back for Game 4.

Here are the potential lines:

Gagne - Richards - Carter
Hartnell - Briere - Leino
Van Riemsdyk - Giroux - Asham
Laperriere - Betts - Powe

Stay tuned.

Stephanie Farr reports from the Four Seasons:

Joe Patitucci's plan to gather bicyclists dressed in orange to follow the Blackhawks buses from the Four Seasons to the Wachovia Center last night was pegged by some media outlets who caught wind of it on line as a "flash mob."

A news chopper flew overhead and the team received police escorts.

Unfortunately, Patitucci's plan fell short, as he was joined by only one friend. Still, the two dedicated fans followed one of the buses down to the stadium on their bikes.

"I can't afford a $500 ticket," Patitucci, 31, said. "This is my way to show support."
