Flyers chairman Ed Snider today was named one of the inductees into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. Snider will be formally inducted into the class of 2011 this fall at a date to be determined.

Snider was the main force in bringing the National Hockey League to Philadelphia when the league expanded in 1967. Snider, the chairman of Comcast-Spectacor, was inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto in 1988.

Snider will be joined in the class of 2011 by former Flyers announcer Mike Emrick, Chris Chelios, Gary Suter and Keith Tkachuk.

The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame was founded in 1973. There are 148 enshrined members in the Hall, which is located in Eveleth, Minn.
