Rangers survive Game 7

POSTED: Thursday, April 26, 2012, 9:40 PM

The New York Rangers are moving on to the second round.

New York eliminated Ottawa with a 2-1 win in Game 7 on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.

That means the Flyers’ opponent is limited now to either Florida or New Jersey, the winner of the Game 7 that started at 8:30 p.m. That game is televised on NBC Sports Network.

The Rangers, the No. 1 seed in the East, will face No. 7 seed Washington, who won in their own Game 7 on Wednesday in Boston.

The Flyers were 3-1-0 against Florida and 3-2-1 against New Jersey during the regular season.

if the devils win, the boys get home ice and no more airplane travel until the cup finals! if the rangers had their hands full with the sens in 7 games, i can't see them getting by the caps, as much as i want them in the conference finals.

Please keep in mind that when Flyers naion pumped itself up to cut the throat of the Pens they got blown out. Even keel please. One thing I will say is that the amount of empty seats in Pathers game seven is DISTURBING to say the least. Flyers fans will be glad to fill seats in N.J. or Florida.

It would be pretty poetic to see the Flyers oust Pittsburgh, New Jersey, New York and then the L.A. Kings on the way to winning the Cup.

It would be only right that the best division in the NHL would have 3 teams go through to Round 2 (assuming NJ hangs on).
I only wish it could have been NJ vs. NYR in Round 2. Those two teams may hate each other more than Flyers/Pens.

Ohh don't worry, the Caps will give NY a good tough fight. It reminds me of football and the NFC East. Records and seedings go out the window. Florida just tied it up and going OT. Sam and Frank are rewriting their scripts as I type right now.
