Ovechkin out vs. Flyers

The Capitals won't have star Alex Ovechkin against the Flyers on Friday night because of an "upper-body" injury.

Seems like the Flyers caught a bit of a break heading into Friday night's matchup with Washington.

Alex Ovechkin will not be making the trip to Philadelphia. He will miss the game with an upper-body injury, though he is still considered "day-to-day."

Ovechkin, 28, has 10 goals in 12 games this season. Going back to last season, he is on a run of 33 goals in 35 games - putting him on a near 50-in-50 pace.

Oveckin has missed 21 games in his career: 13 due to injury, 8 because of suspension. The Capitals are 11-8-2 in that span, having outscored their opponents by a margin of 71-66 (3.38 goals per-game).
