Jagr out 7-10 days

Flyers forward Jaromir Jagr will miss the next 7 to 10 days with a mild, left groin strain, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Jagr, 39, missed practice on Tuesday and the final 34-plus minutes of Monday's iconic Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park. He did, however, remain on the bench throughout the remainder of the game.

"I was hoping that if we got to a power play or something like that [I could play]," Jagr said. "But I just wanted to be with my teammates."

Jagr missed 4 games - and parts of 6 games, in all - in November with a groin strain.

Jagr's latest injury, though, raises all sorts of questions, since he said on Monday that he was suffering from a calf injury that occurred in Pittsburgh on Dec. 29. Jagr specifically stated that this current injury was unrelated to his previous groin injury in November.

Jagr could return to the lineup as early as next Tuesday in Carolina.
