SHOOTOUT QUESTIONS: In last night's shootout, Wayne Simmonds was curiously the Flyers' first shooter off a bench that is filled crafty scorers. Why?
"He was pretty good in shootouts in the preseason," Peter Laviolette said.
Somehow, 651 goal scorer Jaromir Jagr was left on the bench. Jagr leads all active players in goals (and points) and is second among Flyers with 5 goals this season.
As for why Laviolette elected to shoot first against the Devils, instead of allowing Sergei Bobrovsky to face Zach Parise, Laviolette said: "I think there is a percentage that goes in the favor of the team that shoots first who can get on the board first."
