Four Flyers make their way to Hollywood

POSTED: Monday, August 22, 2011, 12:06 PM

The Flyers' Ian Laperriere, Matt Carle, Scott Hartnell and James van Riemsdyk were in Hollywood last week to film scenes for Judd Apatow's latest movie, "This is Forty."

The players had speaking roles and in one scene, the four are asked to dance.

"I will award myself the title of worst dancer," Laperriere said. "JVR and Hartsy had some moves. Matty Carle is a little more my type---a stiffer dancer just like me. But we were all sportmen and had a lot of fun."

The movie stars Megan Fox, Wyatt Russell and Leslie Mann, and is scheduled for a December 2012 release.

Apatow has produced such hits as "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Knocked Up" and "Superbad."

I heard Apatow's wife is a real bit*ch and diva to work with. I live in LA and have heard this from industry folks. She has lost roles because of this. Figures that the only work she can get is acting in her husband's movies.

I am surprised Hartnell did not lose his balance while dancing. This is what he is normally do.

You got it, bro. I've never seen an NHL player fall down as much as Hartnell.

LOL No Buffalo team has ever won anything. The Sabres have no Stanley Cups in 40 years and the Bills lost the Super Bowl four years in a row. Buffalo is truly the city of losers, how can their fans come here and talk trash? LOL

Why would they choose hockey players to act? Are they playing themselves? The story is incomplete.

Seth Rogan must be Apatow's wife. He's in everything he ever made. Tired of the same old cast doing the same old s**t.

Sounds cool to me, looking forward to seeing the movie. Not sure why BUFFALO is in the mix here? I do like their play by play/commentator team during Flyers games on center ice. Good luck with that Leino contract!
