Forbes: Flyers worth $336 million, 8th in NHL

The Flyers are worth $336 million, ranked eighth in the NHL according to Forbes magazine.

The Flyers' value increased 16 percent from last year, according to the magazine.

Forbes also reported that the Toronto Maple Leafs are the first NHL team to be worth $1 billion. The Leafs last won the Stanley Cup in 1967.

Forbes said the NHL's total revenues were $3.4 billion for the 2011-12 season, an increase of 9 percent from the previous. The average worth of an NHL team is $282 million, 18 percent more than a year ago.

NHL players are currently locked out by the owners.
