Flyers trade for right wing
The Flyers traded defenseman Michael Ratchuk today to the Columbus Blue Jackets for right wing Stefan Legein, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.
Legein, 5-10, 185 pounds, will report to the Flyers' AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms.
Legein, 20, was selected by Columbus in the second round (37th overall) of the 2007 draft. He has two goals and one assist in six games this season for the Syracuse Crunch.
Ratchuk, 21, was selected by the Flyers in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2006 draft. He played in 85 regular-season games with the Phantoms and had six goals and 15 assists.

Cup Crazy now!!! DennyP
Depth move. Interesting perhaps only for indicating where the Flyers have and feel they lack depth. Claudio Vernight
I remember this guy. Columbus was really high on him til he decided he didn't want to pursue Hockey, so he retired at 20. He's obviously decided to come back, but you have to wonder if Columbus wanted to get something for him at this point. Maybe they were afraid he might change his mind again. I don't know, maybe he just needed to realize that life is better when you get paid to play a game you enjoy. I hope he's decided now. flyler
The headline is a bit deceiving. This is a move to bolster the Phantoms and will not impact the big club. At least not this season knight
