Flyers open next round Saturday
The Flyers will open the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., regardless of the opponent, general manager Paul Holmgren said today.
Game 2 will be either Monday or Tuesday. If the Flyers play the Boston Bruins, an NBA series could affect the date. Game 2 of the Celtics-Cavaliers series is already scheduled for Monday in Cleveland. That could push a Flyers-Bruins game to Tuesday.
The seventh-seeded Flyers will play either top-seeded Washington or sixth-seeded Boston in the Eastern Conference semifinals. If Washington wins Game 7 tonight against Montreal, the Capitals will play the Flyers. If the Capitals lose, it will be a Flyers-Bruins series.
The Flyers' first two games will be on the road, with Games 3 and 4 at the Wachovia Center. Games 5 and 7, if necessary would be on the road with Game 6 at the Wachovia Center,
