The Flyers have acquired goalie Brian Boucher and free-agent defenseman Kurtis Foster.
Boucher, 36, has played with the Flyers twice before. He was acquired from Carolina for minor league forward Luke Pither. Boucher played 10 games last season as he battled a groin injury. He had a 3.41 goals-against average and .881 save percentage.
Foster, 31, is a righthanded shot. He is 6-5, 226 pounds who played for the Wild, Ducks and Devils last season. He scored four goals and had 10 assists in 51 games.

With Bouch back in the fold, can a Cup be far behind? TruthTeller01
The cup is a lock. The Flyers were low on defensemen (as usual), but Foster fixes that issue. homerjay99
Well, we were closest to the cup with Boucher around in two separate occasions. And he can't do worse than Bryz. suporma
Why? Hasn't the mediocre goalie hurt us enough over the years? defiore14
WHY? Foster is an AHL type and Bouche is not needed twpman- We got Arian Foster,WOW! Oh,it is Kurtis, sorry. Not a bad signing ,a little depth,no? Did someone really say they would miss Carle? Must be the guy that bought his jersey last year because his name is Matt too, Matt Schmidlapp from Shickelimmey , you know the one wearing size 5X with the foam Flyers fingers on each hand. Lets Go Flyers!

Lots of heavy handed d-men. They"ll miss carle on the power play ArtieLange
Suporma - Please tell me you are not implying that Boucher is a better goalie than Bryz...because if you are, I'd love to hear some other moves the Flyers can make to improve the squad. Maybe swap Coutourier for say, Sami Kappanan. We could probably swing that deal. Dope. 5NOT4
Welcome back, Bouche! He is one of the most beloved players in the last 20 years of Flyers hockey. I always hoped that he would retire a Flyer and it looks like the possibility is there. I, for one, am eager to see him between the posts again in the orange and black. I hope he gives all the doubters a big surprise this year. OldSouthPhilly
Foster is not an AHL type - he's a seasoned NHL veteran. He's not a top line blue liner, but on a depleted defensive corps, he adds experience, depth, a left handed shot on the power play and will help as a fifth or sixth defenseman.
And, I'll take Boucher over Leighton every day of the week. He's not a star but is still a competent goaltender and if he can stay healthy can contribute in the net. Aside from that, he was a key component on two different teams that went deep into the playofffs - to the NHL Eastern Conference Finals and to the Stanley Cup Finals. Had he been healthy against Chicago, I think they would've had a far better chance to win than Leighton gave them.
I like both moves. I don't expect either to make a significant difference, but I don't see them hurting the team either. veritas1325
I hear Cechmanek is available... echosmyron- Hey, *I'M* available, and at 5'2" I can fit under the cap too...

I look into my crystal ball and see a goalie controversy come near playoff time. Glad to see Booooosh back. Hopefully he beats out Leighton for the back up job. If Bryz plays well then neither will see net time hardly. But if Bryz sucks well then we have the usual goalie controversy. Fir_Na_Tine
oh good, let me get in line for the Stanley Cup finals now. JJReid
i've mapped out the parade route,....and dusted off my folding chair SyddBarrett
