Flu-ridden Giroux 'probable' to play tonight

POSTED: Thursday, January 7, 2010, 11:50 AM

Flyers forward Claude Giroux has the flu and is "probable" for tonight's game at Pittsburgh, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Giroux was spotted at Philadelphia International Airport this morning; the rest of the team flew to Pittsburgh last night after the Flyers' 6-2 win over Toronto. Giroux remained behind an extra night because of the flu.

I'd probably feel sick too if I missed that many opportunities in a game.

Are the refs even watching this game??? Hmmm...let's see: Crosby was offsides on his wrap-around goal...Pittsburgh FSN clearly showed Gagne's shorthanded goal was good and was completely behind the line. Instead, we get a continued 2-goal game instead of a brackbreaking 3-goal lead (yeah, I remember game 6 too)... whatever...the NHL is determined to ensure that the Pens have a more than legitimate shot to win the game. For example, the 1st period penalty for tripping on Crosby: a Pen did the same exact thing 30 seconds earlier! Like I said, whatever...
