Chicago sets parade plans

POSTED: Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 2:24 PM

Chicago has planned a ticker tape parade for Friday or Monday, depending on when the Blackhawks clinch the Stanley Cup, according to WGN.

As WGN pointed out, "Notice there's no wiggle room here, Hawk fans expect the team to bring home the Stanley Cup, something they haven't done since 1961."

"If the Hawks win in Game 6 tonight, expect a Friday celebration. Should the Hawks lose tonight and win Friday, the city will have its celebration Monday."

There is, of course, the small matter of winning the thing first.

Time and place have not been released yet, but as any Eagles fan knows, leaking the parade details before the result is locked up is not a good thing. Plans for Philadelphia's parade for the Eagles leaked before the Super Bowl against the Patriots, and we know how that turned out.

Memo to Chicago fans. Firts offf, you clowns are not "loveable losers" with your Cubs. They are a big market team with plenty of income and yet have failed to win a WS for over 100 years. The Flyers will come back and make your Hawk's to have to wait another year. Enjoy your deepdish.

humm...and I am sick of hearin about Philly fans in a degrading way...sure we got our clowns...But at least we don't physically assault coaches and umpires...or get beat up by our own players. We get tagged by the media cause the media knows we have heart...no matter how much bad publicity you gave a town like chi...everyone knows they are soft. That's why half the town is rockin cards gear...

I am pretty sure by Legion of Doom he is referring to the Lindros, Leclair and Renberg line for the Flyers back in the 90s.

Of course the Flyers have plans in place for a parade...but they're not arrogant or stupid enough to leak them early.

The old expression "Don't count your chickens before they hatch" comes to mind. Hopefully the Fly Boys will scramble the eggs that Chicago is counting on to bake in their celebration cake this evening.
    unbelieveable!
