Boucher skips practice
A day after his biggest performance in 10 years, Brian Boucher skipped the Flyers' practice on Thursday.
NEWARK, N.J. – Brian Boucher, the unheralded goaltender who carried the Flyers to their Game 1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday night, opted to skip practice today.
Judging by Boucher's pale, gassed look just minutes after his 23-save performance, it was no surprise he wasn't on the ice. Boucher admitted the Devils "made him work" with shots from all angles.
It was his first playoff win in 10 years.
"We're playing every other day," Boucher said. "The idea of morning skate and game seemed to make more sense than practice today and skip the morning skate tomorrow. It was just a choice."
Also missing was Chris Pronger, who logged 30:01 of ice time. Both players were at the Prudential Center today for the skate but did not participate.
SLAP SHOTS: Ville Leino practiced with the Flyers for the first time since Saturday. He said he is feeling "much better" … Defenseman Ryan Parent said he did not know if he would play in tomorrow night's Game 2. A lineup change could be in the works since Lukas Krajicek and Oskars Bartulis saw limited minutes and their pairings needed to be changed up after a turnover-laden start to Game 1.
