The Eagles Fitz

Sunday, September 27, 2009, 12:28 PM
Watching the Fox pregame show, and wondering how long this yuk-fest format will endure. Can't we get IPods to do this? If I wanted to see a handful of of old guys in garish vestments gesturing wildly and saying little of importance on Sundays, I'd go to church. Jay Glazer, who's a kind of Fred Edelstein... Read more

He got that right

Sunday, September 20, 2009, 5:47 PM
Andy Reid called the Eagles' 48-22 loss to the New Orleans Saints "an absolutely horrendous performance." Wow, was he right. The defense gave up 463 yards and the second most points of the Andy Reid era. After the game, Reid blasted all three phases of the game. "That's my responsibility... Read more

Westbrook update

Sunday, September 20, 2009, 4:14 PM
The Eagles have confirmed that Brian Westbrook has an ankle injury. They wouldn't elaborate. He's obviously done for the day. Read more

Westbrook on the table

Sunday, September 20, 2009, 4:06 PM
Brian Westbrook has been spending a lot of time on the training table behind the Eagles bench. Looks like he's having an issue with his right foot. He got retaped before this last Eagles drive, was in for a bit and then came out of the game while the offense was still on the field. Trainer Rick Burkholder... Read more

Time to go

Sunday, September 20, 2009, 4:01 PM
And so they are headed for the exits. Reggie Bush just scored to put the Saints up 41-20 -- ouch -- with 9 minutes, 36 seconds to play. And fan are leaving en masse. For obvious reasons, much of the focus this week was on the quarterback, and we've learned a little more about Kevin Kolb today. But... Read more

The wildcat

Sunday, September 20, 2009, 3:39 PM
I'm pretty sure he won't criticize it, but I'd love to hear Kevin Kolb's true feelings about how the wildcat impacted his play and the flow of the offense. So far, the Eagles have run eight plays out of the wildcat for 44 yards. It's been nothing special, but it sure has seemed disruptive. Nevertheless... Read more

And so it begins

Sunday, September 20, 2009, 3:12 PM
With 10:43 left in the third quarter, at exactly 3:08 p.m., the fans booed Kevin Kolb and the Eagles offense. Took longer than I thought it would. For the second half, Kolb is 1 of 4 for 4 yards, with an interception. After a Kolb incompletion to Brian Westbrook forced the Eagles to punt, there... Read more

Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers

Sunday, September 20, 2009, 3:06 PM
As Mike Bell dove into the end zone to put the Saints ahead 31-13, Kevin Kolb threw passes on the sideline to tight end Alex Smith. Two costly mistakes have put this game just about out of reach. It's been too easy for the Saints. They've scored on their last three drives, and it hasn't taken long... Read more
