Here's your chance to ask Ina Garten how she morphed from a White House nuclear-energy adviser to Long Island gourmet-shop owner to a best-selling cookbook author and star of Food Network’s Barefoot Contessa.
She is coming to the Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, and Philly.com has two pairs of tickets to the show, which is just about sold out. (Tickets, priced from $49.75 to $59.75, can be purchased by calling 215-893-1999, online at kimmelcenter.org, at the Kimmel Center box office, Broad and Spruce Streets.)
The moderator for the evening - which will be equal parts chat and audience Q&A - will be Patricia Talorico, editor, food writer and columnist for the News Journal in Wilmington and its website, delawareonline.com.
Garten's The Barefoot Contessa Cookbook, published in 1999, was one of the best-selling cookbooks of the year, and spawned a Food Network series about cooking and entertaining.
She has gone on to write seven more cookbooks, including Barefoot Contessa Foolproof: Recipes You Can Trust.
