Whiskey Rebellion: A salute to brown liquor

The same people who brought us the Philadelphia Bacon & Beer Festival last year - Aaron Cohen, Nick Korn and Danya Henninger - are behind Whiskey Rebellion Philadelphia, a showcase of American brown spirits. The booze-tasting event will come off 2:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at Theater of Living Arts (334 South St.)

Sunday, April 13 at the Theater of Living Arts (334 South St.)

A $40 ticket includes 12 different whiskey samples (American-made spirits from Angel's Envy, Beam, Brown Forman, Catoctin Creek, Dad's Hat, Four Roses, High West, Hudson, Koval, Michter's, Philadelphia Distilling, Sazerac, Templeton, Western Grace, Western Spirits, WhistlePig, Wild Turkey, Four Roses and more); a cocktail demo; and free bites throughout the event from Serrano in Old City. Jen and Donal McCoy will serve flatbreads in both meat and vegetarian styles and its signature meatloaf sandwiches.

Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13. Sign up for the email list here to get a reminder.

Time will be of the essence. The bacon and beer festival sold out in 30 seconds, and Whiskey Rebellion Boston sold out in three hours earlier this year.
