What's in store for Philly Beer Week

Spring brought our Phillies back to the field and it also welcomes the arrival of the Philly Beer Week.

Spring brought our Phillies back to the field and it also welcomes the arrival of the Philly Beer Week.

Things kick off Friday, May 29 from 7 - 10 p.m. for the ceremonial Opening Tap. Taking place at the 23rd Street Armory (22 S. 23rd St.), this annual event highlights local breweries and their beers, plus the debut of Leuven on a Prayer, a collaboration brew created by Free Will and Belgium brewery Brouwerij Hof ten Dormaal. Beer isn't the only thing to enjoy; guests can take memorable photos inside  Photobot 3000 and jam out to live music.

Tickets are available now and priced at $46 for general admission, $25 for designated drivers, and $92 for VIP which includes an extra hour of access (6 p.m.), exclusive beer samples, and a buffet provided by Di Bruno Bros.

If you can't wait until Opening Tap, an inaugural #Hogtour will take place in South Philadelphia on Thursday, April 30. Hang out with the PBW gang and enjoy beers from the P.O.P.E. (1501 East Passyunk Ave.), Taproom on 19th (2400 S 19th St.), South Philadelphia Tap Room (1509 Mifflin St.), and Devil's Den (1148 S 11th St.). Don't be surprised if other bars become additional destinations.

The full lineup of events will be announced soon.
