The Fillmore will play host to Philly Beer Week's Opening Tap event come June, organizers announced today.

Scheduled for Friday, June 3 beginning at 7 p.m., this year's Opening Tap will feature a couple of beer releases, along with the Hammer of Glory and other live entertainment. Tickets are on sale now, and run $46 for general admission, with $92 VIP and $25 designated driver options available.

General admission tickets provide a 4-oz. tasting glass that allows access to complimentary beers from dozens of breweries currently signed up for Opening Tap. And that includes Fire, Flood & Plague, the new collaborative, licorice-brewed porter created by Yards and Amsterdam's Brouwerij DeMolen.

Opening Tap will also feature the debut of Brotherly Suds 7, which is a collaborative brew created between local beer makers like Iron Hill, Victory, Flying Fish, Sly Fox, Troegs and Stoudt's.

VIP tickets, meanwhile, will allow ticketholders entry into the event beginning at 6 p.m., along with a chance to sample as-yet-unreleased beers from Brewery ARS, and access to a Whole Foods-provided buffet.

This year, the folks at Philly Beer Week also changed up their definition of "local" to only include breweries located within 100 miles from City Hall. So far, more than 30 breweries have been confirmed for Opening Tap, including 2SP, Penn Brewery, Saint Benjamin Brewing, Wyndridge Farm, and many more.
