Right on schedule (after over a year in the works), Tim Spinner and Brian Sirhal's third restaurant Taqueria Feliz will open for dinner on Thursday, October 18. Former La Calaca Feliz chef de cuisine Lucio Palazzo steps up to executive chef at this venture, and his menu is somewhat different from the other Spinner-Sirhal Mexican joints. "What we do at La Calaca is a modern take on Mexican, but here the food is more authentic, more traditional," Spinner says, adding "Lucio really has a feel for that stuff, researching ingredients and spices. I'm super excited to have him in charge."

Nothing is over $19 on the menu, which  is split into sections like tacos (six varieties), appetizers, tortas and big plates - lamb barbacoa, roasted in banana leaves, is one of Palazzo's favorites. Having familiar dishes like quesadillas on one side and "funky stuff" like lamb heart skewers should make the spot popular with Main Line families looking for a bit of fun.

Plus, with a full bar serving draft and bottle beer, wine and a slate of margaritas and specialty cocktails that start at $6.50 and don't go over $10, expect Taqueria Feliz to become a go-to hang for the students that flood Manayunk each weekend.
