Smaller is better for Whole Foods

Whole Foods is changing its strategy for growth, supermarket industry observers tell Supermarket News.

Smaller stores in smaller markets are proving to be better — and just as profitable. Its smaller footprint enables it to expand into more mid-sized markets — such as Des Moines and Wichita.

On the local front, Whole Foods is planning a new store in Wynnewood to replace the current one.
