Shake Shack unveils limited edition, Al Roker-inspired ‘Roker Burger'

If ever you wanted to eat like NBC's Today weather anchor Al Roker, this week at Shake Shack is your chance.

If ever you wanted to eat like NBC's Today weather anchor Al Roker, this week at Shake Shack is your chance.

This week marks the unveiling of Shake Shack's "Roker Burger," which is available now through Friday, Aug. 26. Created in part by Roker with some help from Shake Shack, the burger features BBQ pulled pork, red-eye mayo (that's mayo with coffee and spices, a la red-eye gravy), pickles, and twice as much American cheese as usual.

Priced at $7.49, the Roker Burger also includes a charity component, with $1 from each sale going to No Kid Hungry to help fight childhood hunger.

The Roker Burger serves as the first in a series of collaboration sandwiches from Shake Shack and the folks at Today dubbed "Today's Originals." Roker is a noted barbecue enthusiast, with the anchor's Al Roker's Big Bad Book of Barbecue having been released 2002. Roker also later hosted several Food Network programs touching on the topic, which explains his southern BBQ-style contribution here.

The Roker Burger will be available at all Shake Shack locations, including Philadelphia-area spots in Center City, University City, and both King of Prussia locations.
