According to the AP, salsa is now overtaking ketchup as the most popular condiment in the USA.

The shift has been caused by a number of factors, including growth in Hispanic immigrant and minority populations and the corresponding impact on our "collective menu".

From the AP:

These days, tortillas outsell burger and hot dog buns; sales of tortilla chips trump potato chips; and tacos and burritos have become so ubiquitously "American," most people don't even consider them ethnic.

Hispanic food and beverages were an $8 billion market last year.
