Royal Tavern now making 'Bob's Burgers' for real
As indicated in episode 18 of season 3, "It Snakes a Village," Bob Belcher's burger restaurant in "Bob's Burgers" is most likely located somewhere in the wilds of New Jersey. But for the next 11 weeks, we'll be getting a real-world taste right in South Philly.
As indicated in episode 18 of season 3, "It Snakes a Village," Bob Belcher's burger restaurant in Bob's Burgers is most likely located somewhere in the wilds of New Jersey. But for the next 11 weeks, we'll be getting a real-world taste right in South Philly.
From now until January 2015, Bella Vista's Royal Tavern will run a weekly burger special inspired by Bob's Burgers' punny burger names. The first, the "Jack-O-Lentil" burger, hit yesterday, and includes a lentil burger with pumpkin habanero aioli, tomato poblano salad, and wilted spinach on a brioche bun. Fans will remember that particular burger from season three's Halloween special, "Full Bars."
The Jack-O-Lentil will be available up to this coming Sunday, when the "Mushroom with a View" burger takes its spot. After that, it's anyone's guess.
Royal Tavern's take on Bob's Burgers' burgers, however, isn't the first real-world attempt to re-create the deliciousness teased in the show. In fact, the blog The Bob's Burger Experiment, launched last year, now promises to create the current episode's burger of the day as soon as it airs for all of season 5.
You, though, can take a quick trip down to Bella Vista for a taste of Bob's Burgers whenever you want, no episodes required — for the next 11 weeks, anyway. Better get eating.
