Rita’s Italian Ice is set to open an outpost in a very unusual location…China.

The Trevose, PA-based company will open its doors November 8th at the Ocean Seaview Hotel in Shenzhen, China.

Rita’s is largest Italian ice operation in the United States, with over 600 outlets. China is the first international outlet for the Italian ice brand.

The forthcoming Rita's in Shenzen will not be the last. Shenzhen XingHeFeng Trade Co., Ltd, has signed up to be Rita's main franchisor for Southern China. They plan to open 31 outlets over the next 10 years.

“We are very excited to introduce Rita’s famous Ice and Cool Treats to China and be the first International outlet for the brand,” said Xu Xue Ling, Chairman for Shenzhen XingHeFeng Trade Co., Ltd. “Many have never tasted Rita’s Italian Ice so we’re introducing a unique product and flavors and hope Rita’s will be everyone’s new favorite treat in China too!”
