Philly restaurants offering special #DNCDeals

With the Democratic National Convention setting up shop in Philadelphia from July 25 to July 28, all those delegates and attendees (and Philadelphians) are going to need to fuel up on food and drink. Enter #DNCDeals.

Organized by the DNC host committee, #DNCDeals allows local businesses to share their specials via Twitter and Instagram. Here, a non-comprehensive list of where to eat and drink when the DNC is in town.

Bufad has a meal deal priced at $20.16 that includes a Margherita pizza, Boylan soda, and dessert in the form of a ricotta tart with blueberry compote and raspberry sorbet.

Center City's Ocean Prime offers viewing parties that include beer, wine, and hors d'oeuvres for $100 per person. Additionally, the restaurant will have vesper cocktails on special for $12.

The folks at Gran Caffe L'Aquila will give 20 percent off food to those with DNC credentials. Also on offer: A DNC-themed gelato dubbed "Democratico," which was inspired by a white-chocolate covered strawberry.

Jones restaurant whipped up a whole new breakfast menu for the DNC, which includes a Philly cheesesteak omelette. The restaurant will open at 7 a.m. for the week.

Square 1682 breaks out The Hillary special for the DNC — AKA a shot of Bulleit Rye served alongside a Diet Coke with a lemon twist for $12. Multi-course Staff Meal trays are offered at $25.

Nick's Bar and Grille in Old City will have daily specials at$6.95, plus $5 appetizers. Also, don't forget to mention #DNCDeals for 10 percent off your order.

Slice locations in Rittenhouse Square and the Italian Market have large specialty pies on sale for $20.16. Additionally, delivery will be available for 10 percent off with the DNCDeals promo code. The Rittenhouse Square location will also feature extended hours.

SkyGarten, the city's highest beer garden, offers gin and tonics made with Bluecoat gin for $8. The beer garden also extends hours to include Monday and Tuesday, open 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

At Red Owl Tavern, grab a house burger and Red Awl IPA — a collaborative brew with Dock Street — for $20.16.

Opa keeps things simple with a roasted chicken and vegetables priced at $20.16

The Twisted Tail has their entire menu at 15 percent off. All you've got to do is find a DNC donkey around town to take a photo with, and then post it to social media with the #TwistedTail hashtag.

At National Mechanics, 10 percent off when you show your DNC credentials. Lucha Cartel and Wrap Shack are also offering this deal.

Mention #DNCDeals at U-Bahn from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m., and you'll get in on their late-night happy hour, which includes $6 whiskey shots and cocktails, $6 gin and tonics, and $4 local drafts.

Revolution Taco offers a sweet treat in the form of The Donkey Kick, an ice cream sandwich made with cinnamon cookies and spiced chocolate ice cream from Weckerly's. The dessert is priced at $5.

Saint Benjamin Brewing welcomes the DNC with "Perfect Union," a brew inspired by "White House Honey Ale," which was the first beer brewed in the White House courtesy of President Obama. They are also offering a "Blue Plate Special" for $20.16 that includes alphabet soup, pork, lamb, and beef frankfurters, and a fruit and cheese plate.

Brick and Mortar keeps things Philly with its 'Wit or Witout Philly Cheesesteak" deal, which includes a cheesesteak with fries and a beer cocktail featuring Wit our Witout Wheat beer from St. Benjamin Brewing for $20.16.

P'Unk Burger in East Passyunk has specials throughout the week including Milkshake Monday ($5 shakes), Toppings Tuesday (two free toppings on a burger), and Thirsty Thursday (free fountain soda with burger purchase). Also, all week, two burgers and two fountain sodas will be available for $20.16.

At Russet, a three-course, prix fixe menu at $38. Choices include duck rillette, eggplant raviolo, stuffed zucchini, Pocono trout, and more.

Village Whiskey also offers a burger special for $20.16. The restaurant now also offers The Jefferson, a cocktail made with Village Whiskey's own Jefferson Bourbon.

Capogiro and Capofitto have DNC-themed flavors, including Hillary Hot Sauce (chocolate with hot pepper caramel), I'm Not Baking Cookies (fior de latte with chocolate chip cookie), and Feel the Burnt Sugar. Extended hours for the week, also.

Alla Spina, the Italian beer garden on Mount Vernon Street near Broad,  is selling a pretzel with spicy beer cheese, a burger, and a beer for $20.16.
