Philly Beer Week's Opening Tap ceremony has a new home this year.

On May 30, from 7 to 10 p.m., 40 breweries will offer their wares for the 2014 edition of the homegrown beer festival at the 23rd Street Armory (22 S. 23rd St). The event, which starts the 10-day festival, will be presented by Interstate General Media, parent company of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News and Philly.com.

Opening Tap tickets ($45) are on sale here.

In addition, the route of the annual Hammer of Glory (H.O.G.) Relay leading up to Opening Tap has been released. Every year, the official keg mallet of PBW, affectionately nicknamed "the H.O.G.," travels across the city from bar to bar, tapping kegs and eventually making its way to the Opening Tap, where Mayor Michael Nutter will wield it for the first official tap of PBW.

At each location, the H.O.G. gets a different means of conveyance – from kinetic sculpture to wheelbarrow to SEPTA train to the Philly Roller Girls.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. May 30 for general admission tickets. VIP tickets ($90 per person) will include early entry, starting at 6 p.m., along with catered food, a special assortment of craft beers and exclusive access to the VIP Lounge. (Designated driver tickets are $25.) Opening Tap is presented by Interstate General Media, in partnership with SEPTA, Philadelphia Weekly and Drink Philly. There will be a limited number of walk-up tickets available on May 30.

Music will be performed by The York Street Hustle, a 10-piece 1960s-style soul ensemble band.
