Palladino's previews brunch on Valentine's Day weekend

Luke Palladino is not planning to actually debut weekend brunch service till the spring.

Valentine's weekend, as you might imagine, will pack restaurants as usual.

With the holiday falling on the actual weekend, expect dinner-only restaurants to offer brunch.

Chef Luke Palladino - whose plush Palladino's opened at 1934 E. Passyunk Ave. in December - is going the brunch route on Sunday, Feb. 15. This premiere is actually a preview, as Palladino is not planning to actually debut weekend brunch service till the spring.

Among dishes on Feb. 15's menu are the WTF Waffle (grilled ham, over-easy egg, braised beef cheeks, seared foie gras, maple-mustard glaze, $19), Salmon Bruschetta (smoked salmon, crème fraiche scrambled eggs, shaved cucumber, chives, salmon caviar, $14), and on the more extravagant end, filet mignon and crab (an 8-ounce filet mignon with jumbo lump crab glacage, $48.
