Keen-eyed observers may have noticed a more lifelike Philly cheesesteak hanging on top of the neon-ringed sign at Geno's at Ninth Street and Passyunk Avenue.

Keen-eyed observers may have noticed a different cheesesteak hanging on top of the neon-ringed sign at Geno's at Ninth Street and Passyunk Avenue.

Indeed.

The 6-by-12-foot top portion of the sign - up there at least a decade - was subbed last week because owner Geno Vento didn't think it accurately depicted a cheesesteak.
