Food Republic has posted six ways to get the most out of drinking this Fourth of July weekend. (Like a new-car or furniture sale, the actual holiday or occasion doesn't matter a bit.)

Lesson #1 calls for mixing with watermelon - not only cocktails but nonalcoholic soda.

No. 2 involves craft beer.

No. 3 calls for a backyard punch recipe.
