Holly Ricciardi knows pies - that’s all you’ll find on the menu at South Street West cafe Magpie - and just in time for the holiday season, she’s decided to share the knowledge. Her first-ever pie-making class will kick off on Nov. 7 at 5:30 p.m. and recur on the first Thursday of each month.
For $65, you can be one of 10 students to follow along in a hands-on session that includes tips on making perfectly flaky pie dough and rich, juicy fillings (the first class is devoted to a Three Apple Pie; flavors will change with the seasons).
While the pie you make is baking you’ll be treated to a slice of one of Ricciardi’s professional creations, and at the end of the class you’ll get to take your own pie back home, along with your new skills.
