Heirloom Tomato Festival at Terrain

Terrain in Glen Mills will throw an Heirloom Tomato Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.

Included will be a USA-made marketplace, edible vegetable centerpieces, entertainment by singer/songwriter Chris Bruni, heirloom tomato history with Tim Mountz from Happy Cat Farm, a salsa contest, and tomato tastings.

Following from 6 to 9 p.m. will be an heirloom tomato chef's tasting dinner ($55 a head) that includes five tomato-inspired courses:

Shot of Tomato Water, jalapeno oil

Summer Panzanella, DiBruno Bros. burrata, cherry tomatoes, micro basil, olives, toasted pine nuts, 3-vinegar reduction

-2nd-

Soft Poached Farm Egg, smoked tomato oatmeal, pole bean salad

-3rd-

Grilled Lobster Tail, corn & tomato pudding, house made lardons, corn cream sauce

-4th-

Tomato Bourbon Glazed Pork Loin, summer ratatouille

-Sweet-

Tomato & Peach Cobbler, basil ice cream
