Geechee Girl fried chicken pop-up in Chestnut Hill
Valerie Erwin gets the fryer going.
Good news for those who miss the fried chicken from Mount Airy's Geechee Girl Rice Cafe, which closed earlier this year.
Chef/owner Valerie Erwin and her sister Alethia are doing a fried chicken pop-up at Rollers at Flying Fish (8142 Germantown Ave.) on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
The $50 tab includes food, comp cocktail, and tip. There will be a cash bar for wine and beer.
Menu starts with a bourbon and housemade ginger beer cocktail, and follows with an hors d'oeuvres tray, Romaine salad with buttermilk dressing and cornbread croutons, fried chicken, mac & cheese, sauteed greens with garlic and peppers, buttermilk biscuits, and finishes with apple cobbler with whipped cream. There's sweet mint iced tea, coffee, decaf, and hot tea.
Tickets are here.
