Free 'Chip Kelly' sandwiches: Yes, 3 bites and out
The sandwich, regularly priced at $3, features pork belly on a toasted brioche bun with Oregon blackberry jam.
Chef Joseph Shilling will give away his new "Chip Kelly" 3-bite sandwich from noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at his new PIG restaurant, 712 W. Girard Ave.
The sandwich, regularly priced at $3, features pork belly on a toasted brioche bun with Oregon blackberry jam and a side of crispy chicharrón.
"Oregon" refers to Kelly's former college coaching job. (What? No duck topping?)
And three bites, Shilling explained, is not a wisecrack about a three-and-out offense.
Shilling, a fan, says it refers to Kelly's (almost) three-year engagement coaching the Eagles.
