Flying Fish debuts a Baltic porter, Exit 18
Exit 18 Baltic Porter is the first lager-style brewed in its expanded Somerdale facility.
Flying Fish Brewing Co. has gone to the upper reaches of the New Jersey Turnpike for the inspiration of its latest beer in its Exit Series.
Exit 18 Baltic Porter, the first lager-style brewed in its expanded Somerdale facility, is influenced by English porters and Russian Imperial stouts.
Flying Fish looked to the areas of Secaucus and Carlstadt, which has strong ties to the Baltic region - e.g. its large Polish community.
You get a chocolate and toffee nose, and licorice flavors in the finish.
It was released Friday, Feb. 5.
