Joseph will be joined by his son Christian, 14, for the camp, which runs 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6. Parents will then be invited to join Fine Palate for a four-course prix fixe dinner prepped by the campers beginning at 5 p.m.

The evening's dinner menu: Buffalo tartare, Tagliatelle pasta with San Marzano tomatoes, and Baked Alaska for dessert.

Tickets for campers cost $50 each, while the dinner runs $45 per person. There is room for just 10 campers, and they must be between 10 and 15 years old. Registrations can be made by calling Fine Palate at 267-318-7971.

Joseph plans to teach campers culinary basics such as knife skills and other food prep, as well as provide lunch for the little ones with Fine Palate's signature burger. Campers, of course, will prep the ingredients for their own lunch.

The July 6 gathering will serve as the Culinary Kids Camp's first installment, with more being organized throughout the summer. Later in the summer, Fine Palate plans to add courses like "Desserts 101" and a fish cooking instructional dubbed "Something's Fishy."

And, what's more, it's charitable. Joseph will donate funds raised from the camp sessions and dinners to benefit the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
