The VIP event, complete with celebrity chef cook-off, starts at 7 p.m. Or come at 8 for the party, with music, dancing, Market vendor eats and open bar. $125; VIP, $300. www.PartyTicketsOnline.com/valentine.

* Speaking of Reading Terminal Market, Mardis Gras was Tuesday, but Beck’s Cajun Cafe (215-592-0505) is still going strong on the New Orleans culinary front, especially with its delicious mini King Cakes, which will be sold through this week. Beck’s also has a great line of spice products to help you bring the Cajun way into your kitchen. Get it at the market or www.beckscajuncafe.com.

* Wonder if Girl Scout cookies will be on the menu for the free Black History Month Tea at Awbury Arboretum (1 Awbury Road, 215-849-2855, ext. 25) from 3-5 p.m. Saturday 2/25. The Scouts are a co-sponsor of the event, featuring a lecture on the history of African-American environmentalism by Gina Thomas, assistant counsel in the Department of Environmental Protection’s Southeast Regional Office, and Deborah Fries, also of the DEP.
