Dunkin' Donuts to offer gluten-free varieties

The chain says it will introduce gluten-free cinnamon-sugar doughnuts and blueberry muffins by the end of this year.

Good news for those with celiac disease and others who eschew gluten: Dunkin' Donuts said it would introduce gluten-free cinnamon-sugar doughnuts and blueberry muffins by the end of this year.

"At Dunkin' Donuts, we recognize the importance of providing our guests with many options, including alternative choices for people with food and dietary restrictions," PR director Michelle King said in a statement to Bloomberg News. "We understand that sensitivities to food ingredients such as gluten are a serious concern for certain guests."

The fine blog Gluten Free Philly reported on a test last year.
