What was a simple annual meeting among the Philadelphia food and restaurant community at Drexel University has expanded into an annual international conference about food topics.
Day 1 of the Philly Chef Conference - 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5 - is open to the public. Speakers will include Stephen Jones of Washington State University, a leading researcher in the field of wheat; M. Pilar Opazo of Columbia University, speaking about creativity and innovation in the kitchen; and Kerry Brodie, founder of Emma's Torch, which provides culinary training to refugees.
