Chef Regis Jansen stepped down from Rex 1516 because his cystic fibrosis took a turn for the worse.
Rex 1516 owners want to do something, and so they are selling a cocktail whose proceeds - 100 percent - are going to MANNA, the nonprofit that prepares meals for people with special needs. Jansen is a MANNA client.
Working with Art in the Age, Rex 1516 offers a Snappy Pamplemousse ($10), which blends AITA 'sSnap, Combier Pamplemousse Rose, St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram, fresh orange juice, and angostura bitters.
It's on the menu through Jan. 31.
