Brunch watch: The Little Lion debuts and Marshall Green is back

On the new-brunch list:

The Little Lion (243 Chestnut St.) in Old City debuts weekend brunch service on Feb. 27 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) with chef Sean Ciccarone's Southern-inspired comfort food including small plates, breakfast favorites, lunch sandwiches, and salads. There are three versions of eggs Benedict, stuffed red velvet French toast, fried chicken and biscuits, cornbread hoecakes, and the Lion Burger (made with Pat La Frieda beef). There's a line of brunch cocktails.

Bardot Cafe (447 Poplar St.) in Northern Liberties has Marshall Green - the former chef/owner of Cafe Estelle - in the kitchen, whipping up shirred eggs and eggs Benedict. Characteristically taciturn, he said he is "advising." Brunch hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, and the menu is here.
