Avance - Justin Bogle's coolly elegant American destination at 1523 Walnut St. - has started happy hour at its downstairs bar.
Unlike most happy hours, Avance's runs in two shifts weekdays - from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and then from 9 to 10:30 p.m.
Bar manager Bradford Lawrence offers a few discounted beers ($5 crafts), a few discounted specialty cocktails ($10 rather than $13), a punch of the week, and discounted select wines (one sparkling, two whites, two reds).
There are discounts on the cheese plate, duck terrine, oysters, and a hot, fried, off-the-menu snack, on the order of croquettes.
Plus, there's that lamb burger that everyone seems to be talking about.
