A legendary foodie's gadgets for sale

Julie Dannenbaum

A fabulous collection of kitchen gadgets belonging to the late Julie Dannenbaum will be auctioned April 15, with proceeds going to the scholarship fund of the Philadelphia chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier, which she helped found.

Dannenbaum, a cook, food writer and cooking school owner, died in December, leaving her books and papers to the Free Library of Philadelphia.

Now her daughter, Mimi Robertson, is working on plans for an auction of her pots, pans and specialty tools with Les Dames chapter president Kathy Gold, of In The Kitchen Cooking School in Haddonfield, N.J.

Tickets will be required and details about acquiring those will be released within the coming weeks, Gold said, so stay tuned.
